The mission of the PALMETTO POLIO & PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY Support Group ( PPN )
is to increase knowledge of Post Polio ( PPS ) & Peripheral or Diabetic Neuropathy, among survivors, patients, medical practitioners & the general public.
Regular meetings of the Support Group are scheduled on the second Thursday of each month at 6.00 p.m. at the Bernadine Center, St. Francis Hospital, Greenville, SC.

Dr. Schwartz is a sponsor and founding board member of the PPN and the Palmetto Polio Neuropathy Support Group, which he helped form in 1986 as the Greenville Post Polio Support Group. He is a physiatrist specializing in pain diagnoses and treatment, Non-surgical Specialty care, occupational injuries and sports medicine, and pediatric and adult rehabilitation medicine.
Dr. Schwartz practices at Piedmont Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, PA in Greenville, SC. Dr. Schwartz is certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and has been on the teaching staff at MUSC, Charleston, SC. the Medical School of South Carolina, Columbia, SC. and the Bioengineering Department at Clemson University, Clemson, SC. He has lectured extensively throughout the United States and Europe.
